About Team USA Arizona
Team USA Arizona is a non-profit organization that assists American post-collegiate distance runners based in Flagstaff, AZ through support of their training and recovery needs to enable them to compete successfully at the national and international level. The organization and the athletes also work with community partners to reduce childhood obesity in Northern Arizona through education and encouragement of physical activity and healthy eating in youth and families.
History indicates that U.S. distance runners don’t reach their full potential and race their best until several years after the completion of their collegiate eligibility. Therefore, the purpose of Team USA Arizona is to provide a comprehensive, positive and supportive environment that prepares elite and emerging elite long distance runners for their highest performance ability in the coming years. Toward that end, Team USA Arizona provides an optimal training environment as well as the guidance and support necessary to gradually yet progressively develop the skills required for world-class performances in long distance running.
(Team USA Arizona was incorporated as a non-profit in September 2009 and attained its 501(c)(3) status in 2011.)
